Community is a broad term for us and since we wander around quite a bit - we often get overwhelmed with the possibilities.
But when you get right down to it - we like working with people who could use a tall glass of inspiration to help them do something creative.
In the past few years we've gotten the chance to do workshops for after-school programs, college programs, part of a Denver DA program and we even flew to Idaho for 2 days of AIGA workshops. We also did a series of summer workshops for Urban Peak youth where they work on posters for The UMS. { photos }
We also like the challenge of creating a print that encourages the viewer to think. In 2008 we were selected to design and print the official Democratic National Convention poster. In 2010 we were selected to design and print the HOW Design conference poster. We've created posters for PeaceJam that have been signed by Nobel Peace Laureates including Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama. And then we do our best to make time to create our own art.
In the end - we get the chance to do some neat things and meet some neat people. And we get to be a part of multiple communities - where we actually shake hands and talk in person - which continues to inspire us to create better work all the time.
